The Farmer on the Moon #1

Growing a Farmer By Kurt Timmermister seems at first like it would be a how to guide to farming and understanding the farming industry and how small farm owners fit in that mix. However, Timmermister intertwines his emotions of fear, excitement and inexperience with his tales of how he went from small business restauranteur to a farmer living his dream. When viewing Timmermister's writing style it is very apparent that he is writing almost as he would speak and is a great example for me as a writing student trying to develop this approch in my own writing.

As Timmermister writes about the how he goes about acquiring his farm and ultimately his new home was almost like watching a child learning to walk going from the joy of progress to falling down and laughing at the setback. Timmermister shortly finds out how much work he had in front of him with his land covered with blackberry bushes and old junked machinery but with his determination to be a farmer and experience he was starting to gain through books he eventually got his farm up and running to grow crops and maintain his land.
